We can “hack” these hormones to intentionally manipulate their levels in our body to improve physical and emotional well-being. The Basics of Hormones

Hormones are chemical messengers produced by glands in the endocrine system. They travel through the bloodstream to tissues and organs, regulating various bodily functions such as growth, metabolism, and mood. Key hormones involved in emotional regulation include:

– Cortisol: Known as the “stress hormone,” cortisol is produced by the adrenal glands in response to stress. It helps the body manage stress but can lead to anxiety and depression if levels remain elevated for prolonged periods.
